Police Department
The citizens of Lewisville are entitled to protection of
life and property whether the threat is man-made or a natural disaster.
The Lewisville Police Department is charged with the protection of life and property of persons residing within the city limits and with all law enforcement activities within the City as well as the exercisingof police powers over any property owned or controlled by the city which may be located outside the city limits.
We must strive to prevent criminal activity in our city by patrolling the city, preserving the peace, investigating, arresting, and incarcerating persons who commit criminal acts or breaches of the peace, and respond to requests for service from citizens and visitors to our community.
We must expedite and promote the efficient flow of traffic, investigate accidents, and enforce traffic laws and ordinances.
In order that we may carry out our assigned mission, we are vested with certain legal authority. This legal authority allows us certain legal power. In the exercise of these powers, justice and equality must be the actuating motives.
To achieve successs, the Department must win and retain the confidence and respect of the citizens of this community. We can accomplish this only by a constant and earnest effort in the part of all our personnel to perform their duties in a fair, impartial, efficient, business-like and professional manner.
